After
filling out a child abuse clearance form, we are then able to
uncover if that specific childcare
giver has a history of child abuse or any other criminal convictions.
Also, it will reveal if there have been any DUI convictions
and serious traffic violations which is very important if they
will be driving your child anywhere.
Child abuse, unfortunately, is very far reaching and very
prevalent. Just last year, over 3 million cases of child abuse
and neglect were report in the United States alone. Even more
had emotional abuse and trauma inflicted on their small bodies.
Many people with a child abuse background are allowed to babysit,
be a caregiver and work in schools. How does this happen?
How can we stop this from continuing?
Most parents realize that their child is at risk for abuse
wherever they go which is why they will perform a child abuse
background check before they allow anyone to be alone with
their kids. With nearly 2,000 children dying at the hands
of abusers just last year in the United States alone, most
people who hired babysitters, nannies, etc. had them fill
out a child abuse clearance form which would be used to check
if they had a child abuse background before they are hired.
Many people say that they feel as if they will make the possible
child care applicant feel uncomfortable. Simply put, if they
have an issue with you doing a child abuse background check,
then they more than likely have something to hide. At that
point, run to get a search done! You cannot worry about what
someone thinks of you. Your only worry has to be making sure
that the person you turn your child over to will not harm
them.
We all want to keep our children safe. That is one of the
reasons for this site. We’ve had experiences with caregivers,
nannies and babysitters
and are trying to help others avoid our horrible and frightening
experiences. If we had known that there was such a thing as
a child abuse background check, it would have avoided a lot
of heartache.
